Hi Olly, Like you, we also have a damp problem around the bay window; however, I do know the source of the problem. Being a 1930′s circa house I have been aware that some of the pointing between the bricks requires attention. This was made clear when I inspected the brickwork around my bay window, the pointing is not only very old but some of the original mortar no longer exists which allows water ingress.
Hope this helps

Hi Alex,
I’m glad you found a possible solution to your own problem. I’ve been reading online today and I may need to check the joints and seals around both windows.
I moved my bed earlier (should’ve taken a photo) to reveal mould much worse than in the living room! It all seemed to wipe away, thanks to the paint that was used. This is why mum had it repainted, when the wallpaper used to peel away.
I need to look at the Velux windows upstairs in mum’s room because water literally POORS in… Photos tomorrow.
